Elemental rug is inspired by Kandinsky's Composition IX which belongs to the 'Great Synthesis' period of his life. This painting ushered in the new, more picturesque era of Kandinsky's works, it involved a shift from primary colors to more subtle tones. Fashioned after the painting, Elemental rug too presents a shift from primary to more nuanced and softer hues. The lighter, soothing color palette paired with abstract forms balance out each other, allowing the art to be more expressive and emotive.
Our Kandinsky Collection is a renaissance of the artwork of Russian-born painter Wassily Kandinsky, acclaimed artist and pioneer in the pure abstraction and avant-garde art movements. As the artist once said that "Everything starts with a dot," so did this collection, which today has become a fully fledged series of 8 handmade rugs. The designs uphold the artist's commitment to the synesthesia of colour, sound, and spiritual expression in art. His works linked with the Cosmic world inspired many motifs for this collection. .

Can I create my own design?
Yes, absolutely. With our bespoke rug service, you can create any design from scratch! Whether it's an artwork you created, something you're inspired from or anything else you'd like to create on the rug, anything and everything is possible. As the whole process of making a rug is manual, it allows us to customise every single detail.
