Sapphire Rug - Blue
Sapphire Rug - Blue
Inspired by one of Georges Valmier's geometric compositions is the Sapphire rug. Valmier differed from his contemporary painters in the way that his paintings employed dramatic uses and shifts in color. Possessing vibrant and rich shades of blue, the Sapphire' rug is the perfect addition to a lavish interior, elevating the ambience of the entire room. Out of concern for the environment, this rug is carefully crafted with 100% Tencel, making it sustainable. It is not only soft to the touch, but also dazzles the eye.
Valmier collection, inspired by the artworks of the french artist, costume designer and musician, Georges Valmier, pays tribute to the artist's use of bold colours and harmonising odd shapes. Valmier’s work encompassed cubist and abstraction movements and this collection tries to exemplify the artist’s belief that colour is the key element to creative expression. Vibrant colours and inventive shapes, combined with artisanal craftsmanship are the highlights of Valmier collection.

A bridge between Artists and Artisans
Ruggism creates contemporary hand-made rugs and all collaborations are based on the the simple yet significant founding belief that to bring beauty in this world, we must reduce the gap between people who 'design' and the people who 'make'. The result of these collaborations are the designs that truly stand out, designs that tell a story of both the artist and the artisans.
“The contrasting features of art and design, trends and timeless classics, heritage and modernity, always fill me with excitement and curiosity. That's why when designing rugs, we strive to embrace the rich heritage of thousand-year-old craftsmanship and fuse it with contemporary sensibilities.
This approach gives birth to rugs that are steeped in tradition, yet resonate with our current times and culture.”
